Skip the flowers, go for chocolate and coffee instead

Looking to add a creative spark to your Valentine’s Day? You can’t go wrong with a sweet, caffeinated treat.

Whether you’re spoiling someone special or just treating yourself, our Iced Strawberry Mocha makes for a thoughtful and delicious way to celebrate love.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp of drinking chocolate powder (we recommend using our Gourmet Drinking Chocolate)
  • 60ml of espresso (our Utopia Espresso works perfectly, or go for Organic Decaf if you’re skipping the caffeine)
  • 6-7 ripe strawberries
  • Your milk of choice
  • Ice
  • A muddling stick

METHOD

1 – Prepare the strawberries: Add the strawberries to a tall glass and mash them with the muddling stick until you’ve got a juicy pulp.

2 – Make the chocolate syrup: Mix 2 tsp of drinking chocolate powder with about 60ml of hot water (just off the boil) until smooth.

3 – Build your drink: Add ice on top of the strawberry pulp, then pour in the chocolate syrup and the two shots of espresso.

4 – Top it off: Fill the glass to the top with your milk of choice.

5 – Garnish and enjoy: Use a fresh strawberry to garnish for an extra touch of love. Stir well, sip and enjoy!
