The Ginger Crush: A Spicy-Smooth Coffee Twist

The Ginger Crush: A Spicy-Smooth Coffee Twist

Meet your new curiosity-sparking coffee experiment: the Ginger Crush.

This drink brings together the zing of ginger beer, the boldness of coffee and the richness of thick cream.
The result? A layered, café-worthy creation that’s both refreshing and indulgent.

If you’re an adventurous sipper, this one’s worth a try.

Here’s how to make your own Ginger Crush at home:

INGREDIENTS

  • Ice
  • 80ml ginger beer (opt for a non so spicy version – we used Fever-Tree and think this option is better for those who enjoy more of the spice!)
  • 100ml filter coffee (V60, plunger or cold drip all work)
  • 80ml thick cream (chilled)

METHOD

1 - Fill your glass with ice.

2 - Pour in the ginger beer.

3 - Add your brewed filter coffee.

4 - Slowly pour thick cream over the back of a spoon so it floats on top.

5 - Serve as is for a layered look, or stir before sipping for the full flavour mix.

You’ll notice how the ginger beer cuts through the richness of the cream and coffee, adding a fizzy kick you don’t often find in a coffee glass.

A playful, experimental drink that might divide opinions – but that’s part of the fun, isn’t it?

Coffees we recommend for this recipe: Classic Plunger, Single Origin and Harmony Plunger
