Love coffee and enjoy practical, hands-on work? Join our team in the beautiful Byron Bay hinterland.

Byron Bay Coffee Company is looking for an energetic, reliable and detail-focused Production Assistant to become part of our friendly roastery team.

This is a casual position offering consistent hours across five days per week, with the opportunity to develop into a full-time role.

For over 36 years, we've been roasting coffee we’re proud of. We'd love you to be part of what comes next.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working Monday to Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm, you’ll play an important part in preparing, packing and dispatching our coffee products.

This active, hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in attention to detail and works well as part of a close-knit team. You’ll be involved in preparing and packing products, operating equipment, lifting and completing repetitive tasks while helping keep our day-to-day operations running smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurately labelling, filling and packing coffee products
  • Operating and coordinating packing equipment
  • Processing, preparing and dispatching customer orders
  • Managing and replenishing stock
  • Completing general warehouse and production duties
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe work environment
  • Working with the production team to meet daily targets

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for someone who is dependable, organised and ready to get involved. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience in production, manufacturing, warehousing, hospitality or a similar hands-on role
  • A good level of physical fitness, including the ability to lift boxes, stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Strong attention to detail and a logical approach to work
  • Clear communication skills and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills
  • A current Australian driver’s licence
  • Availability to work five 8-hour shifts per week

Experience in a coffee roastrey, barista or food production would be an advantage. A current forklift licence is also highly valued, but not essential.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Above-award hourly rate
  • Consistent weekday hours with no weekend work
  • Paid breaks
  • Full training provided
  • Barista-made coffee
  • A friendly and supportive team
  • A beautiful hinterland workplace
  • The opportunity to progress into full-time employment

HOW TO APPLY

If you’re reliable, highly organised and enjoy working in a busy, hands-on environment, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email your CV, a short cover letter and contact details for at least two referees to hello@byronbaycoffeeco.com.au

Applicants must have full Australian working rights. No phone calls or recruitment agencies, please.

Great coffee starts with a great team. We'd love you to be part of ours.
